Sandra Girouard

Online Teacher

Mrs. Girouard began working with her first students in the late 1980's. She was super lucky with the jobs she got, getting the chance to explore emerging technologies and integrate teaching across many different subject areas and grade levels. When her family relocated across the country, she found that teaching in traditional schools became a big challenge. As a homeschooling family, she continued teaching her own children and other students in her neighborhood.

In 2010, she began doing online work providing website building services and social media management and marketing. That business model worked great while her family continued to move every couple of years... but it never really filled the spot she held in her heart for teaching.

Then, in 2017, she applied for her first online teaching job, and she hasn't looked back.

Mrs. Girouard has taught online classes in applied music (instrumental lessons), Music and Art appreciation, Computer Applications, High School and Middle School Literature and Writing classes. Mrs. Girouard earned a Bachelor of Music in 1989 and a Master of Arts in Education in 1997.

She currently lives with her husband, three songs, and two dogs in Alabama. She enjoys crocheting, container gardening, and taekwondo.
